Captain John Cox
1739-1818
Captain John Cox was my 6th Great Grandfather. He was the father of James Cox, also a Revolutionary War Veteran. John Cox did not live long enough to apply for a veteran’s pension for his service in the Revolutionary War. However, countless other pension applicants referenced and described their service under the leadership of Captain Cox.
In this album, I will include histories that have been compiled that describe Captain John Cox’ leadership and service for the State of Virginia during the Revolutionary War.
A search on Fold3.com will find numerous references to him in the applications of other veterans.
