- April 6, 1702: A Mary Fox, widow, petitioned the court claiming that she had purchased land from Owing Daniel [Owen O'Daniel] who died before the said land was acknowledged by the court. She had paid said Owing Daniel for the land with 1 cow and 2 heifers. This was for 640 on Salmon Creek on the Creek of Mr. Periott. [See attached documentation in "Early Records of North Carolina Vol. 9].
