CHARLES BLECHA
Charles Blecha, son of Wesley and Mary (Fisher) Blecha, was born December 20, 1879, and departed this life on January 6, 1963, at his home in Narka, at the age of 83 years and 16 days.
Charles spent all but the last five years of his life on the farm where he was born. It was not until serious illness came that he retired from his long-loved occupation of the farm life.
He was educated in the Bethlehem Rural school, where in later years he became a member of the school board, and continued in that service for more than 25 years. With other pioneer children of the community he was a faithful attendant of the Bethlehen Country Sunday school, one of the original country Sunday schools in Republic county.
On February 24, 1908 he was united in marriage to Anna Chermak of the same community. The young couple took over the work and duties of the farm and continued therein until September 19, 1957 when they retired to the city of Narka.
Charles is preceded in death by both his parents, his two brothers, one sister, and one granddaughter.
He leaves to mourn his departure his loving wife Anna of the home; two daughters, Gladys Shara and her husband John, Grace Ann Fiala and her husband Joe; one son, Raymond Blecha and his wife Javene; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Emma Knedlik, and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Interment was in National Cemetery south of Narka, Kansas.
