George McDaniel purchased 100 acres of land for $150 from Frances Youree |
- John Neely purchase land from Franices Youree 2 days prior to this purchase, and it appears that the parcels of land border each other.
John was a witness to this purchase and George McDaniel was a witness to the Neely purchase

I have not been able to find George or his family in the 1820 census. However, He is married in 1816 in Rutherford, and he is there in the 1830 census. I believe that in 1820, he may be living with the Neely family. |

It looks like from this census that George and Isabella also had 3 other daughters.
In addition, a John Neely is one line away from George, so I believe this is the brother to Isabell.
Another note. In the 1830 census, listed right by George is a Frances Youree. He, too, is from Rutherford County. John Neely had bought land from him in about 1819. There might be another connection too. But that’s weird too, because it looks like that Frances Youree stayed in Rutherford County.

Number of persons in household:
Source Citation: Year: 1840; Census Place: , Hardeman, Tennessee; Roll: 522; Page: 303.
In the 1840 census, it lists the following children for George:
Males: 3 (aged <5), 1 (age 5-10), 1 (age 10-15), 1 (age 15-20)and 1 (age 40-50)
Females: 2 (age 10-15) and 1 (age 40-50)
The 1840 census also shows George owning one male slave age 10-23. I suspect that this is either Washington or Wesley, one of the male slaves that his father named in his will of 1836.

1850 Census has George McDaniel living in Hardeman County, Tennessee. |
- George's birthdate is established because he is listed as 55 years old on 1850 census.
In addition, in this census, it says that George was born in Alabama, but I think this is the same mistake that was applied to his brother William, because they came through Alabama before coming to Tennessee.

Federal Slave Census for 1860 |
- In the 1860 Federal Slave Census, George is listed as owning 4 slaves:
Female 45 years old
Male 6 years old (Mulatto)
Female 3 years old
Female 2 months old
George didn’t appear to own this female (age 45) in the 1850 census. Because at least one of the children appear to be Mulatto, (the 6-year old male) George may very well be the father.

Notes |
- I have assumed that Cornelius McDaniel only had one wife, because I have not found a second marriage record to contradict that theory. However, his marriage record in Kentucky states that he is marrying Patsy Dickey. In his will, he leaves items to his "...beloved wife, Martha...".
In addition, when Cornelius sells his land in Alabama in 1834, Martha is also listed as a seller.
So, at this time, I am showing his wife as Martha "Patsy" Dickey.
