    • Name Charles JONES  [2, 4
      • I had down that Charles Jones was the father to Fannie Jones, but Ted Carpenter informed me that information from Bobbie L Jones in Kentucky states that her father was Cadwater Jones. I researched this and determined that Cadwater was, at best, a brother to Fannie. Please see the census documents for Cadwater. He was born in about 1795.

Proving that this Charles Jones was the father to Fannie Jones is a little elusive, but I believe that part of the connecting proof is in the sale of estate assets for Charles Jones in 1833 and 1834, following his death.

Along with Margaret Jones (his wife) and Riley Jones (son of Charles), Michael Carpenter is listed numerous times as an individual who buys many of the assets. I believe that is because he is married to the daughter of Charles (Fannie).

I further believe that because Fannie dies in 1837, that is why she is not listed the will of her mother, Margaret, in 1842.

Plus, Charles Jones was one of the bondsman at the marriage of John Carpenter and Fanny Jones, as well as the marriage of Michael Carpenter and Sally Jones.

This was a case of two brothers (Carpenter) marrying two sisters (Jones).
