This album contains images of the actual newspaper articles describing the suicide of Frantisek Blecha in 1912. It was big news in the Czech papers in Chicago, but it was minor news in the English papers because the Titanic had also just sunk and that news outshadowed the Blecha story.

Annastazie's name is also spelled 'Anastasia' in other Czech documents.

BIOGRAPHY: In the 1910 Soundex for Cook County, Chicago, Illinois, Frank is not
        listed with the family.

In 1907, on Oct. 29 when their son, Jaroslav died, they were living at 1339 Turner Ave., Chicago, Ill.

On March 25, 1909, Anastazie purchased the house at 2727 Turner Avenue (later renamed Christiana Ave. in 1920)) from Barbara Sobolik for $1,600.

On Dec. 31,1919, Anastazie purchased a lot with 10 graves in the Bohemian National Cemetery for the sum of $180.50. However, on November 15, 1933, she sold the south half to Joseph and Terezie Cermak (not a relative). It was divided in half and because of that each family only can use 4 graves on each side because you cannot bury someone in a half grave. [Joan White learned this from the administration at the BNC].
