Notes |
I've added information for Charity Grimes based upon the 1830 Duplin County census. Other than the marriage record for John Jones and Charity Grimes on 12 May 1830, I cannot fully prove who Charity's parents are. I have made a huge leap and made some assumptions based upon that 1830 census.
We can see that 3 lines above John Jones is a James Grimes. That James is listed as being between 40-50 years old. That James has two females (assuming that they are his daughters) aged 20-30.
Furthermore, on the line directly below John Jones is a James Grimes, living by himself, who is in the 70-80 year old age bracket.
Thus, my assumption, without proof, is that the James Grimes, aged 40-50 is a son of James Grimes, aged 70-80. In addition, I am assuming that one of the females living with James Grimes (40-50) is the Charity Grimes who marries John Jones in May of 1830. I am assuming that Charity is the daughter of James Grimes (40-50).
At this point in time, I have no documented proof to make these family connections, but they seem a. pretty good guess at this time.
